Hi it’s Amber here and I want to personally welcome you to the Fresh Start Post-Surgery Program. For those of you that did our 5-day Welcome Program – welcome back! For those of you who are new to Fresh Start – it’s great to have you on board!

Now I know that your decision to have weight loss surgery was probably not an easy one and that you may have gone through a lot of discomfort and change since then, whether it’s been a few months or even longer since your surgery, but the fact that you had your operation shows that you’re the kind of person who’s not willing to settle for the way that your life was before. 

You’re an action taker and you value your health. I acknowledge you for that and also want you to know though that you’re not alone on this journey. We’ve built the Fresh Start team and community to help motivate and inspire you to get the best long-term results and also, importantly, to help support you when times are tough or when you feel that you’re heading off track – which everyone does now and again. We’re here to offer you a judgement-free space where, if you wish, you can connect with others who know exactly what you’re going through and where you can also learn the tips, tools and strategies that will help you build long-term, long-lasting health. So today is about giving you an overview of the Post-Surgery Program so that you know what to expect on your 2-year program with us. 

Group Support

Firstly, I want to talk about the Group Support component of the program - our Stay On Track group webinars. This component is one of the most powerful aspects of the program. Research has shown repeatedly that people who connect regularly with a support network get the best results after weight loss surgery and sustain them. These webinars will also provide you with access to group and individual coaching and learning opportunities for you to create the changes you want. We run regular group webinars that you can access using most types of device from the comfort of your home, so you can use your computer, your phone, or your tablet. At the end of each webinar, we also run optional breakout rooms where you can stay on and interact with and get support from others on the program in a small group setting, if you would like.  We encourage you to join as many Stay On Track group webinars as possible. 

Educational Resources

In addition to your group support, you'll be receiving a range of healthy lifestyle resources via email. To get the most out of these resources, you'll need to give yourself 10 - 20 minutes for most of these emails, as there will be a short video to watch, document to read or audio to listen to, covering one important topic. Sometimes there may be a slightly longer activity that you can plan into your day or week. You can locate most of these resources in your program library using the link below, together with a range of additional resources including downloadable meditations, visualisations and hypnosis recordings, interviews with successful participants who have achieved their health and weight goals, so that you can find out what they did and model their behaviour, and quick, easy and delicious healthy recipes to help you make the right food choices.

Private Facebook Forum

Next I want to tell you about our growing and caring private facebook forum where you can get and give support to other bariatric surgery patients like yourself. Join in to share, stay accountable, get ideas, ask questions and anything else that will assist you by simply clicking here to send a joining request. Let me be very clear - this is a private group. It won’t be visible in your personal facebook feed or timeline. If you’re concerned about your privacy in the group, which we understand can be a factor for example if you live in a small community, then by all means, you’re welcome to join the group under an alias or a fake profile name.
